The research team of Dr. Jin-soo Kim of the Ulsan Advanced Energy Technology R&D Center at the Korea Institute of Energy Research has established an industry-academia-research dream team to create an eco-friendly battery that does not emit carbon.

His team will advance to achieve carbon neutrality in Korea by 2050 and secure sustainable competitiveness in the K-battery materials, components, and equipment industry by 2030 through developing a material/process innovation convergence solution for dry electrode manufacturing.

Dr. Kim Jin-soo, the research director, said, “This development of innovative battery manufacturing technology does not stop at supporting the technological foundation for sustainable growth by achieving carbon neutrality in the explosively growing battery industry, but also improve it to a new level for the accelerated energy storage of the battery itself.”
