Dr. Hyun-seok Cho’s research team of the Hydrogen Research Department at the Korea Institute of Energy Research has found a clue to stably producing hydrogen without degradation in performance despite rapid load fluctuations in renewable energy.

The research team succeeded in finding a technology to improve durability and clarifying the principle by adding a more reactive material to prevent oxidation (corrosion) of the electrolytic electrode due to the intermittent operation of renewable energy (repetitive turning off and on the power in operation).

The research results were published as the inside back cover of the August issue of ‘Journal of Materials Chemistry A’, an international academic journal in the field of materials and chemistry published by the Royal Society of Chemistry in the UK.
