KIER Researchers Receive NST Chairperson Award for Outstanding Researchers at Government-funded Research Institutes

Researchers of Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) received the 2022 Chairperson Award for Outstanding Researchers at Government-funded Research Institutes from the National Research Council of Science & Technology (NST).


Senior Researcher Dr. Kim Min-jin of the Ulsan Advanced Energy Technology R&D Center, who published an article on the technology to enhance the efficiency and durability of perovskite solar cells in Nature, received the Grand Award in the category of research creation by an outstanding rising researcher. Principal Researcher Dr. Kim Byung-hyun of the Computational Science & Engineering Laboratory received the Excellence Award in the category of research creation by an outstanding rising researcher. Senior Researcher Dr. Hwang Sun-mi of the Fine Dust Research Laboratory received the Excellence Award in the category of research innovation by an outstanding rising researcher.


The National Research Council of Science & Technology (NST) gives chairperson awards annually to rising researchers and support personnel who have been recommended from each government-funded research institute based on the excellence of their articles, the level of social interest, the level of academic achievement or technology, creativity, contribution to development, and the effect of their research to motivate science and technology researchers working at such institutes.
