A research team led by Dr. Min Kyoung-seon of the Gwangju Clean Energy Research Center of Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) successfully discovered a new enzyme that produces formic acid, which stores hydrogen, from CO2 .
The team discovered a new CO2 reduction enzyme that stores CO2 as formic acid through genome-mining based on a genetic database, and developed a source technology for producing a hydrogen storage substance from greenhouse gases.
The findings of the research were published in Bioresource Technology, a prestigious academic journal.
