The low-carbon energy sharing research group, led by the Korea Institute of Energy Research, promotes demonstration of zero-energy buildings and the realization of the energy sharing community in the smart village of Eco Delta City (EDC) in Busan through the development of low-carbon energy efficiency technology and energy sharing platform technology for buildings.

The research group plans and develops design technologies for energy sharing communities with various energy demand patterns. It will secure demonstration technologies to achieve 100% energy independence and 60% energy efficiency by equipping the power and heat combined energy system of low-carbon, energy-efficient buildings such as new and renewable energy facilities including building-integrated photovoltaic facilities, geothermal and water heat source heat pumps, heat storage facilities, power storage facilities (ESS), etc., and demonstrate the realization of an energy sharing community.
