The Korea Institute of Energy Research is selected as the supervising organization for the project of building the ‘100MW-class PV research center’ jointly utilized by PV companies for PV mass production verification and next-generation technology development.
The PV research center is a test bed research facility jointly utilized by PV companies by establishing a 100MW-class photovoltaic cell and module pilot line to strategically foster the photovoltaic cell and module industry as a core business in the energy field of the 'Korean Version of the Green New Deal' announced in July 2020.
The research center builds the world's largest 100 ㎿ pilot line that can simultaneously verify the mass production of solar cells and modules and develop next-generation technologies, challenges the development of the world's highest efficiency solar cells, conducts joint research with global research institutes, and train technical professionals in PV field.
