The Korea Institute of Energy Research held the 11th KIER Knowledge Sharing Workshop on February 3 (Wednesday). The workshop was designed to examine the current CO₂ collection and mineralization technology trend and derive directions to secure economic feasibility. 

Dr. Jeong Soon-kwan, the head of the Fine Dust Research Department at Korea Institute of Energy Research, presented a speech on simultaneous reduction technology in both greenhouse and waste carbon neutralization in the cement industry. There was also a presentation on the current status of the carbon mineralization demonstration project by stabilizing heavy metal and CO₂ sequestration and CO₂ collection using direct carbonation reaction and the utilization of construction materials.
