The ‘Renewable Energy-linked Water Electrolysis Green Hydrogen Production Technology’ developed by Dr. Chang-hee Kim’s Hydrogen Research Group at KIER was selected as ‘2020 Excellent Research Performance of Government-funded Research Institute’.

The ‘Renewable Energy-linked Water Electrolysis Green Hydrogen Production Technology’ selected for the Award of Minister of Science and ICT category is a 'load fluctuation response type water electrolysis stack' that can produce hydrogen stably and highly efficiently using renewable energy with high intermittent and variability such as solar power and wind power. This technology can increase the hydrogen production efficiency to more than 82%, and can solving the problem of deterioration of water electrolysis system performance when using renewable energy, contributing to activation of the hydrogen economy.
