Dr. Yu Ji-haeng's research team at KIER succeeded in manufacturing and operating a 2kW class solid oxide fuel cell stack by developing stamping metal separator technology using a press mold for the first time in Korea.
Stamping is a processing method that inserts a material between molds with irregularities and applies pressure to make irregularities on the flat surface of the material.
The developed technology is an innovative technology to localize the stack, a stumbling block in system development, as a core component of high-temperature fuel cells using city gas, and to increase price competitiveness. The research team is expected to accelerate the commercialization of fuel cells through the development of stack source technology.
