Gwangju Bio/Energy R&D Center, Selected as the Lead Organization Supervising the Projects Titled ‘Development of Innovative Technologies for Manufacturing Low-Carbon, High Value-Added Electrode Materials’

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy selected the Gwangju Bio/Energy R&D Center under the Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) as the lead organization supervising the ‘Development of Innovative Technologies for Manufacturing Low-Carbon, High Value-Added Electrode Materials,’ one of the projects to be newly supported by the Ministry for its ‘First Program to Develop Energy Technologies.’


As the lead supervisor of the Program where about twenty organizations and companies including Korea Conformity Laboratories and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology participate, KIER will promote the ‘Integrated Development of Low-Carbon Technologies for High Value-Added Recycling of Cathode Materials from Dead EV Batteries as Resource’ for 5 years by 2026 with 24 billion KRW funded by the government.
