The Korea Institute of Energy Research, Jeollabuk-do Province and Buan-gun agreed to facilitate a 'PEMFC Reliability Evaluation Center' at the Buan New & Renewable Energy Park and had agreement ceremony at the Jeollabuk-do Provincial government on March 7, 2019.

'PEMFC Reliability Evaluation Center' will develop PEMFC(Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell) standards and conduct evaluation test and quality certification. By 2023, a total of 19.6 billion won will be spent, including 10 billion won from the national government and 5.3 billion won of the provincial expense to construct it with a ground floor and a total building area of 1,333 square meters on a 1,980 square meter site of the Buan New & Renewable Energy Park.

It is expected that the construction of the center will lead to the growth of fuel cell related companies which have been suffering from the shortage of equipment and manpower.
