A research team led by Dr. Cho Hyun Seok at the Hydrogen Research Department of Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) successfully developed the membrane for alkaline water electrolysis with the highest level of performance and stability in the world.

The membrane developed by the research team has improved hydrogen production density by more than three times compared to overseas commercial products and also reduced the risk of explosion by preventing the mixing of gases.

Dr. Cho, the research director said, "It is meaningful that this membrane technology has gained competitiveness to lead the green hydrogen market through domestic technology."
