Dr. Kim Jong-nam was appointed as the 18th president of the Korea Institute of Energy Research. President Kim Jong-nam graduated from Ajou University in 1983 with a degree in Chemical Engineering, and received MA in Chemical Engineering (1985) and MA in Business Administration (2015) and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (1994) from KAIST. 

Since 1985, he has worked as Senior Researcher at Korea Institute of Energy Research and served as Chief Director of Climate Change Research, Chief of Chemical Process Research Center, and Chief of Separation Process Research Center.
