The FEP convergence research group (President, Lee Jae-goo) under the Ministry of Science and Technology Information and Communication won the Minister Prize of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy at the 2019 Korea Environment Energy Awards held on Wednesday, November 27.

The FEP convergence research center was honored with the development achievement of 'Supercritical ？ pure oxygen - circulating fluidized bed power generation technology' aimed at reducing greenhouse gases and improving power generation efficiency.

FEP convergence research group: Launched in December 2015 as part of the Convergence Ecosystem Project of National Research Council of Science and Technology (NST). Specialized researchers from Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) as the hosting organization, and government-funded cooperating organizations such as Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH), Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS), and Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM) have gathered to devote to developing advanced technologies responding to the climate change. 

Furthermore, Director, Dr. Choi Sang-jin of R&D Strategy Division of Korea Institute of Energy Research was awarded the Academic Research Award that recognized his contributions. 

Meanwhile, the 'Korea Environment and Energy Grand Prize' had its 11th anniversary this year. It is held every year to raise awareness of the energy and environment industry and attract public attention.
