Dr. Lee Kyong-hwan and his crew at the Energy Resources Upcycling Research Laboratory at Korea Institute of Energy Research has developed an automative process that converts waste vinyl, which has emerged as a social problem, into high-quality oil through an eco-friendly, economically superior continuous pyrolysis plant.

This technology uses low energy through long-term operation at a constant reaction temperature, maintains oil production yield of more than 60%, and has ten domestic and international patent registrations and applications with several technical know-how for continuous production in high energy efficiency and economic feasibility.
