A research team led by Dr. Lee Dae Keun of the Advanced Combustion Power Research Laboratory of Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER), has developed an online platform to distribute and spread new high-efficiency technologies in industries that use a lot of heat energy (steel, petrochemical, oil refining, etc.).

This is a STED platform * that professionally supports small and medium-sized domestic companies to easily explore and introduce new high-efficiency technologies.

*STED (Smart Thermal Energy Design) platform: It is a platform that can be used by non-experts after receiving simple training by mounting expert know-how in each part of industrial facilities.

The STED platform is expected to contribute greatly to improving the effectiveness of government R&D investment, along with 3.2% reduction in energy consumption and 7.3% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, when used in the steel, oil, fiber, paper, and food industries through continuous expansion of high-efficiency new technologies.

The platform was created by 23 domestic industries, schools, and research institutes. In the future, it will be widely used for product design and development of small and medium-sized companies.
