KIER (a head, Dr. Kwak Byong Sung) held ‘CIGS thin film solar battery workshop 2017’ with Korean Society of Sunlight Power Generation (a head, Park Jin Ho) in Busan Westin Chosun Hotel for two days, Jun. 22 (Thu.) and 23 (Fri.).
About 80 experts of industry/university/institute sunlight technology who participated in workshop deeply discussed about research and development strategies of sunlight, application of BIPV, commercialization of CIGS thin film solar battery, etc. through expert presentation and panel discussion.
* CIGS thin film solar battery: Solar battery applying thin film of Copper-Indium-Gallium-Selenium 4 element compound (CuIn1-xGaxSe2,) to light absorption layer
* BIPV: Building-integrated photovoltaic technology
Dr. Yun Jae Ho, a director, New and renewable energy research Div. of KIER, who is in charge of opening ceremony, said “This workshop will draw the strengthening of industry/university/institute cooperation and contribute to creation of high value-added for urban dispersed generation by getting out of existing supply-centered energy paradigm through current large-scale development.”
